    The Associate, Integrated Planning – Local is responsible for the day-to-day stewardship of assigned accounts and is expected to understand the client’s overall business and marketing objectives.  The Associate, Integrated Planning – Local assists with the tactical planning and implementation process for both traditional and digital channels, and provides mid-level strategic recommendations to the senior media team and/or client The Associate, Integrated Planning – Local is expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media landscape, including digital media, and be proficient with media tools and procedures.  The Associate, Integrated Planning – Local is expected to be an active participant on the business, consistently engaged and contributing ideas and insights that will benefit our clients. 


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 


    Media Planning and Execution: 

    • Assist in the preparation, development, execution and stewardship of regional media plans, and responsible for ensuring plans are executed in line with DAN and client processes and standards 
    • Create and maintain media plans, flowcharts, buying guidelines, budget summaries, plan delivery and competitive reports  
    • Collaborate with the Integrated Planning team to provide input into partner selection and rationale 
    • Assess vendor proposals with Integrated Planning team 
    • Assist in developing buying strategies for maximizing media dollars, and handling media negotiations 
    • Key negotiator working with vendors to ensure smart investments are made on behalf of client 
    • Work with Integrated Planning team to maintain media budgets and changes to media plan post negotiations 
    • Work in conjunction with AP on billing and invoicing to maintain consistent process 
    • Keep abreast of all invoices, billing and delivery issues; know when to escalate discrepancies to supervisors 
    • Understand intricacies of various tracking services 
    • Work with Digital Ad Operations to ensure flawless implementation 
    • Work with Analytics team to analyze tracking results and write detailed summaries of end of campaign results 
      • Maintain & regularly update status documents 
      • Develop and maintain timelines for all projects 
      • Balance and prioritize work associated with multiple, concurrent projects 
    • Support DAN’s Regional Planning team in the following areas: 

    - Budget tracking, flowchart management, & competitive analysis 
    - Contracting local media activity, traditional and digital
    - Ensuring all relevant brand plans and campaign details are shared with key stakeholders 


    Client & Internal Relationships: 

    • Manage day-to-day client interaction 
    • Understand the client’s needs at the local and national level 
    • Manage expectations of clients and deliverables 
    • Grow business opportunities within current clients, where appropriate 
    • Advise clients on the best ways to integrate media into their advertising and marketing programs 
    • Participate in and lead, if appropriate, face to face client and vendor meetings 
    • Build positive relationships with internal and external teams 


    Strategic Thinking & Leadership 

    • Identify new vendors and emerging local and regional opportunities to be considered for future media plans 
    • Write POVs as needed and evaluate new media opportunities 
    • Strategize ways to effectively use media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients 
    • Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner 
    • Proactively resolve issues, know when and to whom to escalate 
    • Mindful of the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leveraging this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client 
    • Act as an engaged member of the media industry, and proactively solicit and contribute innovative ideas 


    Communications Skills 

    • Express oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications 
    • Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner 
    • Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially 
    • Assists in the development of media presentations and tactical POVs 
    • Develop client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive  
    • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc. 


    • Bachelor’s Degree 
    • 2-5 years media experience  
    • Experience in traditional and digital media planning 
    • Thorough understanding of the media process, media department and inter-department relationships 
    • Strong negotiator 
    • Proficient with numbers and managing budgets 
    • Demonstrated ability to generate and present well-considered solutions 
    • Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment; can adapt buys due to changes in client objectives, priorities or budgets while minimizing impact on project momentum 
    • Strong communication and presentation skills 
    • Specialization in CPG, QSR, or other relevant categories  
    • Proficiency in MediaTools or similar media management software 
    • Familiarity with Telmar, ComScore, or similar local R/F tools 
    • Experience using DoubleClick, Dart, and AtlasDMT adserving technologies 
    • Proven leadership skills and management experience   
    • Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
